Like many distinguished people in the world, I have friendly feelings towards the DPRK that are developed into fraternal feelings of solidarity. It is because we experienced the DPRK people and their culture and struggle on several occasions.
We are all celebrating April 15, the birthday of Comrade Kim Il Sung, the great leader produced by the Korean nation. He is a genius of idea and theory who put forward creative ideas and theories applicable to actual conditions of his country and successfully applied them in revolutionary practice.

His ardent love for the people is shown in the sector of public health. In the period of building a new society after Korea casted off the fetters of Japan, President Kim Il Sung conducted activities for democratization and socialization of public health, so that national measures could be taken to introduce popular and democratic medical system for workers and officials and their families.
The public health policy among democratic policies enacted by President Kim Il Sung in this period was important, indeed. The President organized a public health administrative structure and took measures for building the first hospital of the people in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, so that medical services could be made for the people and guerillas in liberated zones.
The DPRK people never enjoyed the popular public health in the past. When the DPRK promulgated the law that guaranteed free medical services for all people, they shed tears of gratitude and gave claps to the public health system of protecting everyone.
Public health became the most valuable affair in the DPRK as days went by.
It is Comrade Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the nation and the eternal President of the DPRK, who regarded public health as one of primary undertakings for the people from the first period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. He took charge of public health and put an end to the anti-popular public health policy. His ideas and exploits are inherited with brilliance by his successors.
Public health is regarded as the most precious and glorious work in the DPRK. It is because the great Juche idea authored by President Kim Il Sung regards man as the most valuable and powerful being in the world.
After the demise of President Kim Il Sung, the DPRK was led by Comrade Kim Jong Il who was identical to the President.
He paid a deep attention to public health. Comrade Kim Jong Il inherited the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and saw that large-sized public health facilities were built.
The DPRK developed fully not only public health but all other fields as it was led by Comrade Kim Jong Il.
Comrade Kim Jong Il applied the great Juche idea with success. Comrade Kim Jong Il defended safety of his country and people and turned the DPRK into a military power which no strong enemy dare to attack, by dint of Songun.
