President Kim Il Sung called upon the non-aligned nations to stand on the side of the people and unite against world imperialism for the building of the independent world. President Kim Il Sung put forward a slogan “Let the World’s People Advocating Independence Unite!” and made public such important works as “Let Us Intensify the Anti-Imperialist, Anti-US Struggle” and “The Great Anti-Imperialist Revolutionary Cause of the Asian, African and Latin-American Peoples Is Invincible”. In the works, he believed that a common issue should be explored to fight against world imperialism. He also urged the revolutionary and militant forces of the world to unite for the independence and sovereignty of their country. The DPRK became a member of the Non-Aligned Movement in 1975, which helped the DPRK expand its influence.
The NAM, the powerful anti-imperialist revolutionary force in our times, was very strong during President Kim Il Sung’s time.
Today the DPRK has been at the center of world politics. This is the fruition born by President Kim Il Sung, the founding father of the DPRK. That is why he is considered a great figure in the NAM.
