A friendly gathering was held in Gokorno House under the joint auspices of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association and the friendship and Juche idea study groups on May 15, 2023 on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Nepal.
There were a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung and that of the Nepalese president on the front wall of the venue.
In the venue were exhibited photos showing the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the monumental edifices erected under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the powerful might of the Korean People’s Army. Flags of the two countries were hoisted at the venue.
Present there were over 40 people from the government, political party, friendship and study groups and the press including the chairman of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association who is the former vice-premier and doubles as the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the director of the Nepal Institute of the Juche Studies who doubles as the vice-chairman of the National Land Committee of Nepal, the assistant secretary of the MOFA General Bureau of Northeast Asia, the members of the standing committee, the political bureau and the central committee of the party, the chairmen and members of the Nepali Literary Forum for the Study of Songun Politics and the Centre for the Study of Korea’s Independent Politics, the chairman of the Nepal Society for the Study of Self-reliance, the chairmen and members of the Forum for the Study of Korean-style Socialism and the Nepal-DPRK Forum of Writers and Journalists, the coordinator, chairman and members of the Socialist Journalists’ Forum of Nepal for the Study of the Juche Idea and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Gorka Express.
At the gathering, first the chairman of the Study Forum for Self-reliance of Nepal explained in detail that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries were developed for the past 49 years in the fields of politics, the economy, culture, etc., and then the DPRK ambassador and the chairman of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association made speeches.
The chairman of the association said that he deemed it a happiness to celebrate in Nepal the 49th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Nepal. He said that President Kim Il Sung paid deep attention to the friendly relations with Nepal and saw that unsparing economic assistance was given to it and support was extended before others to its efforts to declare it as a “peace zone”, adding that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un now pays attention to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
He praised that the DPRK, which differs little from Nepal in territory and population, has become a great country who holds the position of being a full-fledged nuclear country and ranks with the world big powers as it had the great leaders and it now has the great leader. He asserted that he would make positive efforts to develop further the friendly and cooperative relations of the two countries in many fields in the future, too.
At the gathering they had a national dance performance staged by the Nepalese artists and a party to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Nepal.
