    While unfolding great heyday of building a civilized socialist country, Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace was remodeled.

    In accordance with the theme of the structure, that described the bosom of the motherly Party that gives every good fortune to schoolchildren carrying them in flower-bedecked car of happiness, both wing buildings form curve and thus it looks like a woman widening her both arms. And on top of those buildings are clear shining letters--“We are the happiest in the world!”, “Let us run towards the future!” reflected by the sunshine.

    On the frontal side of the palace are the beaming images of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, and in the lobby there displayed autographic proposition of President Kim Il Sung, which reflects his noble outlook on the rising generation, future and revolution, with golden letters.

    Every structural part of the palace is well decorated in accordance with the children’s mind and modern sense of beauty while providing good environment to blossom their love for the country and dreams and ideals to go ahead of the world.

    There are a room for the education in the revolutionary history and a room which houses the revolutionary relics which are newly arranged.

    In the science block are arranged rooms for scientific and technical groups such as computer group and physics group and every room is equipped with modern facilities so that the group members can give full play to their scientific talent while studying to their heart content.

    A large relief Korean map and a model of a rocket for carrying satellite “Unha-3” that flies off the earth are also in the scientific hall, so that they can learn nature and geography of their country and cultivate ambitious dreams and ideals to beat the world.

    In the art block there are rooms for embroidery group, calligraphy group, kayagum group, accordion group, girls’ chorus group, vocal training group and so on. General training halls for national instruments and electronic band are modernly set up and thus the schoolchildren can develop their skills according to their likings and talents.

    The art hall is well furnished to meet the children’s mind and as a place where they can have rest and artistry presentation.

    The theatre with the capacity of 2 000 seats was changed into a place where they can have any kind of art performance in keeping with modern aesthetic tastes and children’s mind.

    Sports establishments like indoor swimming pool and indoor gym were modernly furnished so that they can have even international games. Rooms for sports group are well furnished to bring up the talented children into famous athletes, and physical training and driving practice ground outside the palace are finely remodeled to match with the surrounding environment.

    In addition, the hostel is finely furnished providing the schoolchildren from local areas with all conditions and surroundings necessary for boarding and lodging without any inconveniences.

    In November 2015 when he looked around the newly remodeled palace, respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said that he felt as if he had just been in a fairy-tale-like world. He said that Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace is an architecture which no other countries can have or imitate and that displays the superiority the DPRK’s socialism.

    Thanks to Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace which has been turned into a comprehensive extracurricular education center and a talent breeding place for schoolchildren, warm love of great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, who spared nothing for the rising generation, can be continued year after year and bright and delightful laughter of the children can resound over the sky of Songun Korea along with the song We Are the Happiest in the World.
