The Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea clarified the issues arising in improving and increasing the public health service, a major criterion of the image of socialism through which the people directly enjoy the advantages of the socialist system.
Socialist public health system in the DPRK is the one and only one in which the state is entirely responsible for the workers’ lives and health and takes care of them. The DPRK public health is a symbol of advantages of the Korean-style socialism centering on the popular masses.
What is important above all in further improving the socialist public health service is to make the socialist pubic health service, which was provided by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, sustain its original features.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.
“Our country’s socialist health care system established by the great leaders is the ultimate people-oriented public health system. It enables everyone to work and lead a happy life in good health, free from worries about medical treatment.”
The socialist public health service ensures the people’s right to medical treatment on a high level.
The DPRK fully provides the people with the right to medical treatment by which the people can lead a happy life, free from worries about medical treatment. The DPRK people lead a dignified and happy life thanks to the Socialist Constitution and the Public Health Law.
Efforts should be made to provide the people with the medical service on a higher level as the people enjoy the benefits of the universal free medical care system thanks to the district doctor system, system of protecting children’s and women’s health, the social security system, etc. and through the specialized medical services including telemedicine system and first aid service.
The socialist public health service also protects and improves the people’s health on a steady basis by thoroughly implementing the Party’s policy on preventive medicine.
In protecting and promoting the people’s health, prophylactic treatment is of weighty significance and serves as the most active method rather than treating the people after they have taken ill.
It is important to intensified hygienic and anti-epidemic work and the thoroughly enforce the district doctor system so as to make all the working people actively prevent themselves from diseases. It is also necessary to make a correct diagnosis of disease on time and take positive treatment measures while giving prophylactic treatment in accordance with the individual features of the working people and their living conditions.
Building up material and technological foundations of the sector of public health is important in further improving the socialist public health service.
As a building can withstand only when it has a solid bedding, so the public health system established in the country can be solidified and its advantages be fully displayed only when medicines and medical appliances are fully provided.
The units associated with the leadership exploits of the WPK should lead properly the sectors of public health, medicine and medical appliance industry in order to decisively increase the production of medicines and medical appliances.
Sector of pharmaceutical industry should wage a dynamic struggle to boost the production of popular and reserve medicines, increase their variety and further raise their efficacy.
Special attention should be paid to thoroughly ensure the safety and reliability of the medicines and big efforts should be made to be well versed in the world development trend of the pharmaceutical industry and actively introduce the advanced techniques.
It is important to decisively raise the level of automatization and modernization of the medical appliances factories relying on one’s own raw materials and resources while activated them by and large and raising the level of their technical equipment. It is necessary to turn the medical appliances factories in the country into modern ones capable of producing fine medical facilities based on advanced science and technology.
It is also important in further improving the socialist public health to train all the medical workers to be true health workers of the WPK possessed of warm human love and high level of medical qualifications.
At present, the WPK calls upon all the public health workers to equip themselves with the Juche-oriented idea and policy on public health and make active medical services with the idea and policy as a guiding principle.
All the medical workers should thoroughly acquire a revolutionary habit of making systematic and comprehensive study of the instructions of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il given to the public health sector and their units, making them their faith and creed and implement them unconditionally and without fail.
All the medical workers, who are the engineers of human life and direct performers of medical service, should cherish warm love and devotion for man and acquiring themselves with modern medical science and technology so as to display the might of the socialist public health system more powerfully.
Under the wise leadership of the great Workers’ Party of Korea, public health system of socialist Korea that is the best in the world will bring greater happiness to the Korean people in the future.
