    Politics is precisely strength. Politics which is not guaranteed by military strength cannot be enforced successfully. Wisdom and political capability of a modern politician depends on how properly he combines politics with military affairs.

    In the 1990s of the 20^th century the US political and military pressure to stifle socialism of the DPRK was intensified more than ever before. The prevailing situation and changed international circumstance urgently required Korea to uphold the banner of Songun.

    Kim Jong Il put forward an original political mode of Songun and enforced it comprehensively by deepening and developing President Kim Il Sung’s idea and line of giving importance to rifle and military affairs on the basis of analyzing scientifically the requirements of international conditions and changed situations of the Korean revolution. Thanks to the Songun politics, the Party, army and people in the DPRK could control and check the imperialist aggressors with powerful military deterrence and have a precious sword to defend socialism and win victory with rifle in the Korean revolution.

Today the Korean revolutionary armed forces are strengthened and developed into the matchlessly strong army that can firmly guarantee the victory of Songun revolution militarily with strong and modern means of attack and defense.

    Kim Jong Il’s strategy proves ever-victorious since it is offensive.

    It enables the DPRK to keep victorious in every military confrontation with the US who boasts itself of being the “strongest” in the world because his is stubborn, determined and smart. It also displays unlimited might because it is extraordinary one to keep active in controlling any enemy.

    Kim Jong Il is now highly praised as the leader with gifted military wisdom and strategy.

    Second, it is the revolutionary faith and indomitable will, matchless courage and gut.

    Revolution is done with faith and will, courage and gut. If a revolutionary does not keep his faith, his life meets a dishonorable end, but if a political leader fails to do so, his party and state is ruined. This is the truth proved by history.

    Kim Jong Il is a strong man who personifies faith and will on the highest phase.

    His faith and will enables the Korean people not to yield before any threat or blackmail imposed by tens of millions of enemy but to rise up with redoubled courage and do-or-die spirit without any hesitation or vacillation in any adversities. He renews his revolutionary mission and holds the banner against enemy whenever more difficulties are faced with his country. It is invincible spirit and ideological and spiritual traits of Kim Jong Il, strongest in faith and will.

    Kim Jong Il dealt a merciless military attack to aggressive moves of the US, took tough attitude towards its political and diplomatic pressure, and treated its reactionary ideological offensives with revolutionary ones, thus leading the Songun revolution to victory. His faith and will, courage and gut is displayed in the long journey traveled by him continuously, which results in the death-defying faith and will among the army soldiers.

    The Korean revolution has proved with practice the truth that a party with strong faith is not degenerated, the army with firm faith is not defeated and the people with conviction are not disintegrated. Korea defends socialism and wins victory in the revolution with such faith and will imposing itself as a socialist fortress and displaying the dignity. The Korean revolution is, indeed, recording a victorious history of faith and will, courage and gut.

    Third, it is warm love and benevolence.

    Love and benevolence are important traits for a brilliant commander.

    They are based on the philosophy of believing in the people as in heaven and his constant view that trust produces loyalty and distrust results in betrayal.

    Kim Jong Il defines the revolutionary comradeship as a basis of a single-minded unity, a spiritual strength of the Party and a driving force of the revolution and shows the comradely love that can be compensated with nothing for the Korean soldiers and people.

    It is clearly found in the love for and trust in the officers and men of the People’s Army.

    It is a noble one based on absolute trust in the revolutionary soldiers and a permanent one continued from yesterday to today and from today to tomorrow.

     Kim Jong Il regards army men not as the simple people from the view of relationship between the supreme commander and soldiers but as the revolutionary comrades sharing same idea and will. He visits every place where soldiers stay even though it is far and difficult to go.

     Courageous spirit and devotional love of Kim Jong Il who willingly inspected the dangerous forefront and braved through cliffs and rough storms for his soldiers is greatly moving the hearts of all army men and people. Kim Jong Il regards the People’s Army as the pillar and main agent of the revolution and loves the officers and men with parental love.

    His trust and love is an ideological and spiritual source that enables the officers and men of the People’s Army to be brave fighters and heroes of human bomb. Thanks to his endless love and trust, the Korean People’s Army has become a reliable pillar of the revolution, thus displaying stamina and fighting vigorously for the victory of the Songun revolution.

     Today the DPRK defends socialism firmly and advances victoriously the cause of Songun revolution under Kim Jong Il’ s politics of love and trust.

     It is a review of the Songun revolution and an immortal truth acquired by the Korean people through practice that they will be victorious all the time because they have Kim Jong Il who possesses faith and will, courage and gut, love and benevolence. Ever-victorious will be the Songun revolutionary cause of the DPRK which is advancing with confidence, upholding Kim Jong Il, a political veteran, genius of military affairs and incarnation of benevolence.
