It was in autumn 1971 when Chairman Kim Jong Il was giving field guidance to Ryanggang Province.

One day, Kim Jong Il came together with officials to an angling site in Mupho and cast a fishing rod for some time.

Kim Jong Il was lost in so much deep thought that he was ignorant of chars gathering one after another to snap at baits.

An official got dubious about it. So he approached Kim Jong Il to show signs of his presence. Then Kim Jong Il looked back to see him.

As if to continue his previous thought, Kim Jong Il said in a low voice that, as he dropped a fishing line on the bank of the Tuman River that is associated with sacred traces of President Kim Il Sung and warm blood of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners, he could have a fresh idea of formulating the President’s revolutionary ideas.

Kim Jong Il said that the river and forest around there have hard history, that the President’s revolutionary ideas far excel the preceding ideas in their depth and breadth, and that his revolutionary career is an immortal heroic epic to be cherished forever in the hearts of humanity.

Adding that the President’s Juche idea has a powerful appeal to billions of people across the world, but the President’s revolutionary ideas have not been formulated so far, Kim Jong Il confidently said that just as the flow of the Tuman River is eternal, so Kimilsungism is the only guiding ideology of the revolution, representative of the contemporary times, and the great revolutionary ideology that will shine invariably also in the future society.

The angling site in Mupho tells the DPRK people still now that it is associated with ideological and theoretical intelligence of Kim Jong Il who regarded it as his noble mission to formulate Kim Il Sung’s revolutionary ideas as the guiding ideology that illuminates the road ahead of the times.
