Kim Il Sung had a talk with a well-known party and state activist from the USSR in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
At that time, he asked Kim Il Sung which kind of assistance the Korean people wanted the USSR to give for the building of their country after liberation. Kim Il Sung gave him the following answer.
Kim Il Sung said that the Korean people were going to build the country possibly by themselves. He said that it would be beneficial for their future though difficult. He said that, as the worship of great powers existed historically as a root cause of the national ruin, they were determined to prevent such ruin caused by the worship of big powers in the building of a new country.
