The moral obligation is to regard the interests of the community as more valuable than those of individuals and serve the community with devotion.
Leader Kim Jong Il said.
“In his relationship with the community, an individual should regard the interests of the community as more valuable than his own, and consider it a moral obligation to serve the community with devotion.”
An individual can not live without the community and the interests of the community are more valuable than his own. Therefore, it is the moral and natural obligation in the relations between the community and individuals to consider the interests of the collective dearer than the one of the individuals and to serve the collective.
Loyalty to the leader, the party and the masses is important in the moral obligation to be maintained in the relationship between the community and individuals.
Naturally, the popular masses constitute the community. And the leader represents the community as the centre of the community and the party represents it as its backbone. Therefore, loyalty to the leader, the party and the masses becomes noble revolutionary duty as well as natural obligation for the revolutionaries.
Loyalty to the leader, the party and the masses should be based on revolutionary conscience. Only then, can the loyalty really be lasting and true, free from affectation and changing attitudes in any circumstances and conditions.
What is important in moral obligation between the community and individuals is to love and value public property and devote for the country.
As public property belongs to the community, we should consider the relationship between the common property of the society and individuals as the relationship between individuals and the collective. And the relation between individuals and country that comprises all the people, property and territory, should also be regarded as the relationship between individuals and the community.
What attitude individuals have about the public property is expressed concentratedly in the labour. To participate in labour faithfully is a noble moral duty for a social being. Only when the working people like labour and work honestly with the attitude of being responsible to society for the results of their labour, whether they are recognized or not, can they contribute to the increase of social wealth and take good care of it. Valuing the wealth created by labour and taking good care of it are an expression of loyalty to the social community and a proper attitude towards labour and workers. Therefore, every member of society must regard it as a morality to participate in labour faithfully and value anything created by labour and taking good care of it.
It is also a noble moral obligation of valuing the interests of the collective and devoting themselves to it that individuals value socialist fatherland and devotedly fight for the national defence and prosperity.
Without the fatherland that provides the people with independent and creative lives and protects it, it is inconceivable about happy and worthwhile life.
For the people in socialist countries, the fatherland is the bosom of the leader. Thanks to upholding the leader and his wise guidance, fatherland becomes worthwhile community and the cradle of happiness for the people.
Therefore, when individuals defend socialist fatherland and devotedly fight for the prosperity of the country, they can be faithful to moral obligation to be maintained in the relationship with the community.
