The revolutionary outlook on the world is established through the stages of cognizing social phenomena, of hating the exploiter society and class and possessing the idea to defend one’s class interests and of acquiring the revolutionary determination to struggle against the exploiter society for a new system.
Leader Kim Jong Il said:
“The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il has said that people can not be considered to have established a revolutionary outlook on the world until they realize their class positions and interests, feel hatred for the exploiting class, are ready to champion their class interests, and then embark upon the path of the revolution with a firm determination and will to fight to destroy the society of exploiters and build a new society for the working masses.”
The first stage of establishing the revolutionary outlook on the world is the one of cognizing.
The revolutionary outlook on the world begins to be established with cognizing one’s class positions and interests.
That people cognizes their class positions and interests means that they cognize the practical position occupied by their class in the society and cognize what is beneficial and what is harmful in realizing their class demands. In other words, it means that they cognize which class takes hold of the state power and means of production and which class and social system they should overthrow to improve their class positions and what kind of society they should build.
It is important for them to know well the reactionary and corrupted nature of the exploiter class and society as well as the essence and superiority of the socialist society in cognizing their class positions and interests.
The second stage of establishing the revolutionary outlook on the world is the one of acquiring the idea to hate the exploiter class and society and defend their class interests.
It is a new high stage of consciousness development which is qualitatively distinguished from the stage of cognizing though it is based on cognizing their class positions and interests. In the stage, people’s self-awareness of the class positions and interests is combined with their active attitudes, thus realizing the self-awareness at a high level.
Only when they acquire the idea of hating the exploiter society and class and defending their class interests, can they have the enthusiasm and incentives to overthrow the exploiting class which infringes upon independence of the masses and build a socialist society.
If they are aware of the class positions and interests and acquire the idea of hating the exploiter class and society and defending their interests, they can have a foundation for a revolutionary outlook on the world.
The third stage of establishing the revolutionary outlook on the world is the one of having the revolutionary determination to overthrow the exploiter class and society and build the socialist society.
That they have the idea of hating the exploiter class and society and building the socialist society does not mean that they can devote their all to the revolutionary struggle against the exploiter class and society for socialism. It can be found in the fact that in history many people were aware of the wrongs of landlords, capitalists and exploiter society and hated them but they only groaned instead of fighting against them. Only when they have the revolutionary determination and will to hate the exploiter class and society and fight against all enemy to the end in order to build the socialist society, can they actively rise up to the revolutionary struggle.
In this stage the method and means of struggle are mainly decided and the enthusiasm for revolution encourages them to make revolution. It is the important content of the third stage that people make firm decision, that is, the revolutionary determination, in combination with their practical attitude to embark on the road of revolutionary struggle.
Only when they embark on the road of revolutionary struggle with the decision and determination to overthrow the exploiter class and society and build the socialist society, can they establish the revolutionary outlook on the world.
Like this, the revolutionary outlook on the world is established through the cognitive stage, the stage of acquiring the idea and the stage of making the revolutionary determination.
