The principle of holding fast to the people’s thinking as the main in the revolution and construction is the principle to attach decisive significance to ideological factor and solve all problems by enhancing the role of ideological consciousness.
Attaching decisive significance to ideological factor implies giving primary attention to the people’s thinking and maturing all other conditions in the revolution and construction by relying on ideological factor.
Solving all problems by enhancing the role of ideological consciousness implies solving all problems in the revolution and construction not by technical, practical and administrative way but by enlisting the people’s ideology.
Holding fast to thinking as the main is a lawful requirement of development of the revolutionary movement that is advanced by the ideologically awakened and prepared masses.
Revolutionary movement starts from the work of awakening the people and wins victory by the strength of the masses who are armed with the progressive ideology. Stress should be put on awakening the masses ideologically in order to carry out the revolution and construction with success.
Material means and other objective conditions of the revolutionary movement, of course, exert big influence. However, it is man who creates and utilizes the objective conditions.
Whether objective conditions of the revolutionary movement is created rapidly or not and how they exert influence on revolutionary movement are decided by the people’s ideological consciousness. Therefore, it is important to give primary significance to ideological factor and positively mature all conditions in the revolution and construction.]
Holding fast to thinking is also an intrinsic way for the revolutionaries.
Noble mission of the revolutionaries is to struggle for complete independence of the masses. Revolutionaries can win victory in the revolution and accomplish their mission only when they awaken and rouse people to willingly turn out in the struggle.
Therefore, it can be an intrinsic way for the revolutionaries to actively mobilize people’s thinking in every activity.
Unfavourable conditions can be overcome and revolution and construction advanced vigorously and the victory of revolution can be hastened only when it is relied on high revolutionary consciousness of the masses.
