    Today the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea continuously develops crop farming, animal husbandry and fishing to make dynamic efforts to settle the issue of people’s living.

     In his New Year’s Address in 2015, respected Marshal Kim Jong Un put forward the task of resolving the food problem of the people and improve their dietary life on a higher level with crop production, animal husbandry and fishing as the main thrusts.

     Last year, Korea made many successes in the dynamic efforts to implement their task.

     In particular, great successes were made in animal husbandry and fishing sectors.

     The construction of stockbreeding bases in Sepho area was sped up dynamically true to the intention of the Workers’ Part of Korea and many livestock and fish farming bases were newly built or reconstructed on a modern basis in different parts of the country, thus normalizing the production on a high level.

     By emulating the working spirit of the People’s Army which made a new history of sea of gold, great successes were made in fishing.

     Many modern vegetable greenhouses and mushroom production bases were built.

     Janchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm with hundreds of greenhouses was successfully built as a model unit of greenhouse vegetable production, a socialist fairyland suiting to the appearance of a civilized nation. An integrated control system was introduced in the greenhouses of the farm to put the greenhouse vegetable production on a high scientific basis. Different public buildings including many greenhouses, sci-tech dissemination rooms and the farmers’ dwelling houses were successfully built in content and form to bring up the image of a city.

    　In his New Year’s Address in 2016, too, Marshal Kim Jong Un put forward the task of effecting a radical change in improving the people’s standard of living by making innovations in the crop farming, animal husbandry and fishing sectors.

    　Kim Jong Un made clear that the agricultural sector should actively adopt superior strains and scientific farming methods, speed up the comprehensive mechanization of the rural economy and take strict measures for each farming process, so as to carry out the cereals production plan without fail. The animal husbandry and fishing sectors should ramp up production as soon as possible and see to it that the fish farms, vegetable greenhouses and mushroom production bases built across the country pay off. Thus they can contribute to enriching the people’s diet.

    　The Korean people will effect increase in the production in crop farming, animal husbandry and fishing sectors true to the New Year’s Address of Marshal Kim Jong Un and thus bring about a new turn in improving people’s standard of living.
