“Recognized Theory of War” Unaccepted

On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain carried on its internet homepage an article introducing President Kim Il Sung’s distinguished art of commanding the army and outstanding military strategy. It said as follows:

Upholding President Kim Il Sung’s order to frustrate the enemy as soon as the war broke out and switch over to the instant counterattack, the Korean People’s Army liberated Seoul, the enemy’s stronghold three days later.

The President saw that the People’s Army units launched a powerful counterattack in the whole front and at the same time set the western part of the front as the direction of main attack and made the main units of the army implement the Seoul liberation operation rapidly. It was a brilliant policy of operation which enabled to give a blow to the enemy’s ruling and commanding system and expanding achievements throughout the front.

As a result, the “recognized theory of war”, according to which one is defeated at once or cannot but retreat for a period if one is invaded suddenly, was unaccepted in the Korean War.
