    February 16, the birthday of Kim Jong Il was instituted as the Day of the Shining Star and his statues and the towers of immortality of Kim Jong Il engraving the letters “Great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Will Always Be With Us” have been erected across the country.

    At the 4^th Conference of the WPK held in April, 2012 and the 5^th session of the 12^th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK the Korean people adopted the decisions, reflecting the unanimous desire of the entire people, to hold the great Comrade Kim Jong Il as an eternal General Secretary of the WPK and an eternal Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

    The works to add luster to the immortal exploits of the General Kim Jong Il down through generations is in progress.

    The revolutionary idea of the great generalissimos that are recognized as the great guiding ideology in the era of independence have been formulated as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and the books that delineated Kim Jong Il’s revolutionary life and exploits including the 5^th volume of “Comrade Kim Jong Il, a Legendary Great Man”, “A Peerless Patriot” and“Kim Jong Il’s Complete Works” were published.

    The title of the DPRK generalissimo was awarded to Kim Jong Il and the orders and honorary prize named after his august name were instituted.

    The commemorative coins entitled “The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il will be immortal” were issued observing the 70^th birthday of Kim Jong Il and documentary film “The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il will be immortal” (part 1-4) were produced.

    The memorial service on the occasion of the 100^th day of the demise of Kim Jong Il and the memorial service on the occasion of the 1^st anniversary of his demise were held in a reverent atmosphere in different parts of the country including Pyongyang.

    The 14^th Kimilsungia Show and the 16^th Kimjongilia Show were successfully held on the occasion of the first Day of the Shining Star and the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

    What is important in realizing the immortality of the leaders and carrying forward the leaders’ cause successfully is to lead all works in keeping with the will and intention of the leaders and in the leadership method of the leaders.

    The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who has the will to follow Kim Jong Il’s Songun revolutionary exploits began his first on-the-spot guidance in 2012 at the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105^th Tank Division that is associated with the first footstep of Songun leadership of the General Kim Jong Il.

    The building of a thriving nation had been a life-long wish of the great generalissimos.

    The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un formulated that “Single-minded unity and invincible military might plus the industrial revolution in the new century together make a thriving socialist country” to arouse the entire people to the struggle for the final victory in the building of a thriving nation.
