The Swiss Preparatory Committee for Celebration was formed in Barzel on May 2, 2024 to mark the 60^th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The committee was formed with members of several friendship organizations and the Juche idea study group. Martin Lotscher, president of Swiss Juche Idea Study Group was elected the chairman of the committee.

Statement was issued in relation to the forming of the committee.

The statement emphasized that Kim Jong Il, in his whole period of leading the revolution, achieved immortal exploits in strengthening and developing the Party and building a socialist powerful country since June 19, 1964 when he started work at the Central Committee of the WPK.

It issued that the committee was formed to further strengthen friendship and solidarity with socialist Korea and its people on the occasion of June 19 on which immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il is associated with and that they decided to hold colourful events in the celebration period from May 8 to June 25, 2024.
