Swiss Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the 82^nd Birth Anniversary of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il was formed on the occasion of his birthday, the Day of the Shining Star.

The committee was formed with members of Swiss Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, Switzerland-Korea Committee and Switzerland Group for the Study of the Juche Idea. The committee issued a statement.

In the statement, the committee noted that it would fix the period from January 8 to February 18 as the one for celebration and organize and hold colourful activities during the period, so as to highly praise Kim Jong Il’s noble revolutionary career and immortal exploits.
