Chilgol Revolutionary Site is situated in Chilgol-dong No.1, Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang.
The Chilgol Revolutionary Site is associated with the revolutionary records of President Kim Il Sung who journeyed 1 000 ri for learning true to the high aim of his father who had said that one should know well about his country and fostered the noble intention of national liberation.
It is also associated with the revolutionary records of the President’s mother, Kang Pan Sok and her family members.
Anti-Japanese Heroine Kim Jong Suk visited the site with young Kim Jong Il in May and September 1946 and leader Kim Jong Il visited it on April 10, 1955 to learn after the President’s childhood and planted trees.
In the Chilgol Revolutionary Site there are a statue of President Kim Il Sung in Changdok School days and a statue of mother Kang Pan Sok, the outstanding leader of the Korean women’s movement.
It includes the place where Kim Il Sung fostered strong will while playing at soldiers, the reading site where he broadened his knowledge and educated is mates in patriotism while reading books and the wrestling site where he trained his physique and spirit. It has also the place where Kim Il Sung made firm will to defeat the Japanese imperialists and liberate the country and a place called Menagol where he played at soldiers and led his mates to free from superstition.
In addition, there is Chilgol Revolutionary Museum which was built to hand down generation after generation the revolutionary records of the President, his mother
Kang Pan Sok and her family members.
