Teachers’ Devotion for Disabled Students

Among those who make devotion to education of the rising generation with clear conscience upholding the intention of the great Workers’ Party of Korea, there are teachers who take care of disabled students like their parents.

Pak Un Ju is one of them. She is a teacher at Yaksu Primary School in Hyongjesan District. In March 2022 when she went to the district for the survey of the children at pre-school age, Pak came to know that a girl could not walk since her birth.

Pak made an uneasy decision to take responsible care of the disabled girl. She visited the girl’s house and suggested the girl to go to school with her.

Everyday Pak taught the girl songs and some simple math problems on the way to the school. It was a lesson for the girl.

In October 2022 Pak took the girl to the native home of President Kim Il Sung at Mangyongdae. That day the girl said in tears that she wanted to walk into the yard of the President’s native home on her own feet.

Since then Pak’s daily program made her busy. She delved into books of medicine during her leisure time.

Thanks to Pak’s devotion, gradual change was made on the girl’s legs. Finally the girl could make some steps with other’s help and participate in the ceremony of hoisting the national flag.

Seeing the girl growing up, the people praise Pak by saying that her devotion was a medicine for the girl and her devotion was more than that of the girl’s parents.

Many teachers including Ryang Son Il who teaches at Dorim Senior Middle School of Technology in Sariwon, and Kim Sol Gyong who teaches at Dongmun Primary School in Kanggye, have taken disabled students to school to give them education and devote their all to make them walk for several years.
