Table Tennis Player without Hands

Kim Yong Rok was one of the young people who were on a platform of the Table Tennis Games of Amateurs and Persons with Disabilities- 2022.

Kim grew up in a rural town. Nobody imagined that Kim could play table-tennis as he had lost his hands and most of his arms by accident at his young age.

However, he learned how to play table-tennis as he wished under the warm care of the socialist system that values the wish of a child with disabilities and brings it into bloom.

Kim practiced table tennis to improve his technique thanks to the care and efforts of officials and staffs of the Korean Sports Association of the Disabled.

During those days Kim felt more deeply the gratitude of the socialist system in which the people regard others’ pain as theirs and live with them in harmony. He decided to make more strenuous efforts for the grateful people and give brilliance to the socialist country and devoted himself to the training.

As a result, Kim won a gold medal in an international game. He is a winner of the Kim Il Sung Youth Honour Prize.

When he bagged a gold medal, Kim said once again with deep emotion.

“I love my grateful country, the socialist system.”
