True to the decision adopted at the 8^th Plenary Meeting of the 8^th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials and workers in the sector of metallurgical industry put continuous spurs to Juche-based projects.

Fully enlisting the technical forces to solve problems, officials of the Ministry of the Metallurgical Industry and of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex finished with success the building of an energy-saving oxygen-blast furnace and the installing of a large oxygen plant and made a partial test-run of them. They are now active in making preparations for their general test-run.

Officials in the Chollima Steel Complex pay deep attention to the timely providing of materials and equipment necessary for installing additional continuous ingot machines in close connections with related units. Its workers and technicians actively wage a mass technical innovation campaign to enhance quality and speed in the installment.

Those of the Unryul Mine make trials of production and eliminate unreasonable parts in developing a branch mine in Sohae-ri as soon as they finished the construction and the manufacturing and installing of its equipment, thus hastening preparation for its inauguration.
