True to the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the fishery sector channels efforts into the coastal farming on a large scale.

Officials in the Ministry of Fishery and relevant units take measures to expand coastal farming area and, on its basis, direct main efforts to increasing coastal farming products by manuring and tending them scientifically and technically.

Many sea farms in the west sea area strictly observe technical demands arising in manuring, tending and thinning out kelp and introduce scientific producing methods suited to their growth and distribution, thus producing quantities of kelp.

Fishery units in the east sea area also channel big efforts into the increased coastal farming production while taking good care of breeding grounds and introducing advanced methods of farming.
