Big efforts are concentrated on restoring and perfecting irrigation facilities of rural communities in order to implement the decisions of the Sixth and Seventh Plenary Meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

North Hamgyong Province accelerates the production of large-size water pumps while channeling efforts into consolidating material and technical foundations for the plant of equipment and spare parts for irrigation.

It also makes dynamic efforts to readjust and reinforce reservoir sluices and prepare water wells, tube-wells and other underground water establishments.

Nampho City pays a big attention to enhancing the role of technicians and skilled workers in the irrigation sector while giving precedence to designing of irrigation projects and repairing and readjusting of the facilities.

It has finished repairing and readjusting water pumps, motors and transformers. On this basis, the city registers achievements in restoring and perfecting irrigation facilities by building new irrigation structures or repairing existing ones and by cleaning waterways and pushing ahead the project of irrigating dry-fields.
