Today many women in the world suffer from deprivation of political rights and social inequalities and thus women emancipation is still raised as a serious international problem.

However, women lead a happy life as masters of the state and society in the DPRK where legal guarantee for women’s rights are ensured thanks to the Socialist Constitution, several departmental laws and the state policies.

The state fully guarantees the rights to participation in labor and labor protection and thus the DPRK women receive equal benefits of labor without knowing the word unemployment.

An ordinary woman worker becomes a deputy to the Supreme People’s Assembly and many women are active in power organs of all levels.

There are nurseries and kindergartens in every part of the country and women who bear and bring up many children are regarded as heroines of motherhood.

The DPRK women who have grown up into the powerful force that is in charge of one of the wheels of revolution under the bosom of the Workers’ Party of Korea write a glorious page of history of the country which makes a leap forward with creation and construction.

Tens of heroines and hundreds of woman doctors were produced at the outset of the new century of Juche.

Among them there are an official and a primary school teacher who took warm care of orphans and a pupil with an incurable disease and brought them up into pillars of the country, scientists who continue their research with patriotism and athletes who gave the national pride and self-confidence, great conviction and courage to the people by winning international games.

The DPRK women are, indeed, dignified and proud ones who lead worthwhile life under the warm care of socialist system.
