The 4th Conference of the Workers’ Party of Korea elected great General Kim Jong Il as the eternal general secretary of the WPK and solemnly declared that the WPK considered Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as its only guiding idea and regarded it as its highest program to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. The 5th session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly, the DPRK made it a law to combine the NDC chairmanship only with the august name of General Kim Jong Il thus holding him eternally in the highest position of the Republic. Title of the DPRK Generalissimo, Order of Kim Il Sung and Kim Il Sung Prize were awarded to General Kim Jong Il and Order of Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Il Prize, Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize and Kim Jong Il Children Honor Prize were newly instituted.
