The People’s Palace of Culture is a comprehensive cultural service centre for the people built in the Korean style at the entrance of the Chollima Street in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.
It is a monumental edifice built by the noble intention of great leaders Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il to provide the Korean people with more civilized life conditions.
The People’s Palace of Culture was completed on a high level in a matter of over 2 years after its groundbreaking.
On January 1, 1974, President Kim Il Sung met with its designers and builders participated in a banquet arranged in celebration of the New Year and named it the People’s Palace of Culture, highly appraising their feats.
Today different international and national functions are held in succession in the People’s Palace of Culture and lots of people come here every day to lead diverse cultural and emotional life.
