Korean bow is a form of greeting by bending waist or head to express respect and courtesy when meeting and parting.
The traditional way of the Korean bow has sitting bow and standing bow.
The sitting bow takes place in rooms, which is divided into big, normal and half bow depending on the degree of bending waist.
The big bow is deeply bending waist with hands on the floor to the extent of head touching hands. This takes place to express respect to the elderly like grandfather and grandmother and in the ceremonies like wedding and 60th birthday.
The normal bow is bending waist with hands on the floor. This takes place to parents, teachers and other elderly.
The half bow is sitting and lightly bending head. This takes place to reply the greeting of the juniors.
