    Kim Il Sung Prize and Kim Jong Il Prize, the top prizes of the DPRK were conferred to song We Are the Happiest in the World according to the decree of the presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly dated May 5, 2016 greeting the 7^th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

    Song We Are the Happiest in the World is a famous song of famous songs that can be born only in our socialist country in which all people form one big family in the embrace of the great leader and the great Party and that can be sung by our people from the bottom of their hearts.

    The popular song We Are the Happiest in the World(words by group, music by Kim Hyok) was born in 1961 when the 4^th congress of our Party.

    Composer Kim Hyok, who received the words reflected the happy life which our people were leading with President Kim Il Sung as their father of a big socialist family, went to the (then) Haeju Revolutionary School to experience anew the happiness of our people from life of the pupils.

    Kim thought as if he could have put down notes and symbols on the paper. It was because the school, where the pupils of the school were growing up more happily under the affection of the President and the Party than those who have parents, was the intensive expression of our people’s blessings.

    The pupils’ life was, indeed, beautiful, romantic and happy life of our people regarding the Party’s bosom as their family and themselves as real brothers and sisters.

    Kim translated his experience into music.

    The song We Are the Happiest in the World received big applause of audiences in the art performance arranged in celebration of the 4^th congress of our Party.

    55 years passed since the song was born.

    This song is now resounding more highly over the country thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s love for the people and the posterities.

    In April 2014 when he visited the Songdowon International Children’s Camp which was nearing to inauguration, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that not only the children but the adults like the words We Are the Happiest in the World and that it is the decision and will of our Party to make our children and people live without envying in the world so that their laughter and cheers of the Workers’ Party can be echoed more loudly.

    He said that we should make the song We Are the Happiest in the World resound forever on our land.

    All children of our country have been singing the song generation after generation. The song reverberates in every family and working place of the country.

    Singing this song, our people have followed the great leaders and the great Party braving through trials and traversing the long journey of the victorious and glorious revolution and are now following the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to advance vigorously along the road of independence, Songun and socialism.

    Our people will enjoy happiness of the world through generations in the bosom of the motherly Party while singing the song We Are the Happiest in the World, the masterpiece which symbolizes and represents the era of the Workers’ Party and the eternal theme music of socialist Korea.
