    Science and education takes an important part in social development.

    Today is the era of science and technology, and the level of development of science and technology is an index determining general national power and position of a country, and power of science and technology serves as the powerful driving force of social development as the most important strategic resource of the country.

    In particular, the science and technology should be developed in order to rapidly increase the self-development capability and make rapid progress in all sectors under the ever-desperate economic and technical blockade by imperialists against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

    Education is an important criterion appreciating the level of civilization of a country and an important affair ensuring the future of the country.

    A civilized power can be built and prosperity of a country be achieved only when the younger generations are brought up as comprehensively developed talents who are prepared politically and ideologically and are highly creative, morally sound and physically fit through the development of education.

    The Workers’ Party of Korea has always directed efforts into the science and education and puts it forward as an important task to develop it in the building of a powerful socialist country.

    Facilities and environment for science and education have an important influence like the foundation for the development of science and education. As the grain output can be increased only when the efforts are fully given in farming, so the great success can be achieved in scientific education only when the facilities and environment for science and education, that are as same as their foundation, are fully provided.

    For the improvement of scientific facilities and environment, nationwide science dissemination network should be established centring on the Sci-Tech Complex, the great temple of learning for all the people and the multifunctional scientific and technological dissemination hub, so that new scientific and technological data run from the capital to the local regions.

    Institutions, enterprises, factories and cooperative farms should establish online science and technology dissemination facilities that are connected to the Scie-Tech Complex and ensure their proper operation in order to help the working people raise their level of scientific and technological knowledge and encourage them to make a positive contribution to the technical development of their respective units.

    Important in improving the scientific facilities and environment is to equip the universities, colleges and other educational institutions at all levels with e-libraries and modern bases for conducting scientific research, experiments and internships, and keep them in brisk.

    Kim Il Sung University and other leading universities should be developed into centre of education and scientific research and hub of international academic exchange that can match the world’s first-rate universities.

    In order to improve the facilities and environment for scientific education, the DPRK raises the state investment to the sector of science and education and establishes the spirit in which the whole society assists the sector and gives importance to the scientific education.
