    The Jangchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm is located in Sadong District, Pyongyang.

    President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il made every effort to build this farm into a vegetable production bases for the Pyongyang citizens.

    The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who visited this farm in June, 2014 gave an instruction to build this farm, which is permeated with immortal exploits of the President and the Chairman, into a typical greenhouse vegetable production unit and a model farm of the country and led wisely for its realization.

    Thanks to the wise leadership and warm love of respected Kim Jong Un, the Jangchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm has changed into a civilized rural town in a short period of less than 1 year.

    A host of greenhouses, public buildings and farmhouses are so perfect in both content and styles that they remind viewers of a town in the countryside.

    Hundreds of blocks of arch-style interlocking greenhouses are powered by renewables. They all have a bumper crop of tomato, red pepper, chives, eggplant and other vegetables now.

    An integrated controlling system has been introduced into the greenhouses, making vegetable production scientific, information-based and intensive on a high level. The general greenhouse environment measuring device was installed helping the farmers to adjust temperature and humidity suitable for vegetable cultivation and grow vegetables scientifically.

    Some of the greenhouses are hydroponic and some others are equipped with solar water heaters and nano hydrolysis devices.

    The sci-tech dissemination hall with a library, e-reading room and soil and blights examination rooms is connected online to Kim Il Sung University, the Grand People’s Study House, the Academy of Agricultural Science and other institutions.

    Farmers can have access to any scientific and technological data and information they desire, and learn advanced science and technology through the online education course of Pyongyang Agricultural College of Kim Il Sung University.

    Having been designed and constructed to suit the rural environment and conditions, Jangchon Health Complex is well furnished with service facilities including bathrooms, hair and beauty salons, shops for clothes mending and shoe repair and snack bar.

    The wading pool has even a rock-climbing facility. Sections of single-, two- and three-storey rural flats called “apricot,” “date” and “peach” villages are provided with solar water heaters, solar panels and a methane gas supply system to give every benefit to the residents.

    The hall of culture, ri people’s hospital, nursery, kindergarten, schools, folk games playground and the park with volleyball court, swimming pool, roller rink and fish pond—all these present a picturesque view to the visitors.

    The farmers in this farm lead a happy and civilized life without envying the urban life.

    The Jangchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm was built into an example of the socialist rural cultural revolution and into a socialist fairyland in the era of the Workers’ Party of Korea, providing the foundation for turning all the rural villages into the socialist fairyland suiting to the civilized nation, after the example of this farm.
