Two Won—the Money Which Was Sent With the Preparation of Death

Comrade Kim Jong Suk, the anti-Japanese heroine practically showed how a revolutionary should defend the organization and the headquarters of the revolution in the period of the underground political activities during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

In the early August 1937 comrade Kim Jong Suk, who was preparing to send relief materials to the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army with the Women’s Association members, was arrested by the vicious Jingan army soldiers because the rolls of paper hidden in the storage was detected.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk was taken to Yaofangzi where the HQ of the Jingan army was situated and was imprisoned in a peasant’s house.

The enemies tried to find out the truth by torturing and conciliating her but Comrade Kim Jong Suk fought against them with iron will.

It was not difficult to escape by killing the guard as there was only one guard in the front.

But if she had escaped, it would be proved that she was the underground worker of the Revolutionary Army and the old husband and wife of the house she was imprisoned in and the people in Taoquanli who guaranteed her would be revenged.

And the revolutionary organizations in Taoquanli, Xiagangqu and Sinpha area would drift into the whirlwind of the white terror of the enemy and moreover the Sinpha path which the President attached great importance would be in danger.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk, in order to rescue all of these, decided to sacrifice herself and wrote a letter to the organization.

“Feel easy. I am going to be killed.

But the organization will be safe.

I am sending all of my belongings—two won.

Please use it for the organization.”

The two won which was sent by comrade Kim Jong Suk after preparing her death tells well the noble personality of her who always regarded the revolutionary organization as important and was faithful to the revolutionary task.

History does not know any warm, pure and devotional fighter, the great revolutionary as the heroine of Paektu who loved the revolutionary organization with warm, pure and fiery devotion and showed a noble model in organizational life.
