    It is an important task in accelerating the socialist culture in 2014 to develop education that decides the future and destiny of the country.

    In 2013 Kim Jong Un, who has directed deep attention to the education of the youth and children with the policy of giving importance to the science, technology and talents, gave precious instructions on several occasions that related to the education of the youth and children, thus elucidating the orientation and way of the development of education. He saw to it that the highest grade apartment buildings for educationists at Kim Il Sung University were built in a short period. And he gave field guidance to the Pyongyang University of Architecture. Thanks to his ardent love and benevolence, the conditions and environment in different units of education were improved in accordance with the demand of the era of information industry.

    True to Kim Jong Un’s idea of giving importance to education, the sector of education should improve the contents, methods, conditions and environment of education as required by the revolution and developing times and bring about a fresh turn in education, including secondary general education.

    Thanks to the great love of the Workers’ Party of Korea for the improvement of people’s health, up-to-date hospitals including the world first-class Okryu Children’s Hospital and Ryugyong Dental Hospital were built in 2013 and modern medical facilities introduced to improve the medical services of the people.

    By putting efforts to medical treatment and preventive medicine for promoting the people’s health, the public health sector should ensure that the benefits of socialist healthcare system reach the people more closely.

    Producing large numbers of masterpieces of the times in the sector of art and literature is a major task in building socialist culture in 2014.

    Art and literature are a bugler, a powerful propellant, for the revolutionary advance in building a thriving country.

    The creators and artistes in the sector of art and literature should produce great numbers of masterpieces of the times, which are high in ideological and artistic qualities and touch the heartstrings of the audience keeping step with the advance of the Korean revolution and vibrant realities.

    Raising more fiercely the strong wind of conducting sports throughout the country is, too, a major task in building socialist culture in 2014.

    Society will be full of vitality and the spirit of the nation, dignity and honor of country be demonstrated to the world only when the strong wind of conducting sports is raised more fiercely throughout the country.

    Sportspeople should, as they did in the past, intensify the training with a high ambition to become world champions, and sports science and technology should be developed. And they should splendidly implement the Party’s plan of building the DPRK into a sports power by implementing the policy of making sports mass-based.

    The tasks of building socialist culture set by Kim Jong Un in the New Year’s Address serve as the guiding principle that enables the DPRK to make another big stride in building of socialist culture.

    Building of socialist civilized country will be hastened when the fresh success are made in 2014 in all sectors of cultural construction including education, public health, art and literature and sports upholding Kim Jong Un’s New Year Address.
