Many fossils of Paleolithic man and Neolithic man were unearthed in the DPRK.
Typical fossils of Paleolithic man are Ryokpho men unearthed in Ryokpho District of Pyongyang City, Tokchon neoanthropus unearthed in Tokchon City in South Phyongan Province and Hwadae men unearthed in Hwadae County in North Hamgyong Province.
Many fossils of Neolithic men including Sungnisan men(neoanthropus in late Paleolithic age whose fossilized bones were discovered in Mt. Sungni), Mandal men, Ryonggok men and Hwangju men were also unearthed in the DPRK.
Along with Komunmoru relics and Tongamdong relics which belong to the former term of the Old Stone Age, these fossils prove that the Koreans extensively covered the development stages of human evolution including an ape-man, a Paleolithic man and a Neolithic man.
What should be stressed is that most of human fossils in the DPRK were unearthed in Taedong River basin which is centred on Pyongyang area.
