All countries in the world, big or small, aspire after rehabilitation and prosperity. However, rehabilitation and prosperity do not come of their own accord.
A state can make progress only when the broad masses of its people turn out in the patriotic efforts for prosperity and development of their country.
It is a proud tradition of the DPRK people to support the country by dint of the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement.
Thanks to their clean and pure patriotism, many patriotic movements were initiated in the DPRK.
The patriotic rice donation movement that was initiated on the nationwide scale after national liberation, “my hill” movement which was conducted by the People’s Army in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War, the plowwoman movement which was launched in the rear during the war, etc. are the examples.
Proud tradition of the DPRK people’s patriotic movement gave a birth to the period of great Chollima upsurge, and the tradition is inherited still now.
The DPRK people launch patriotic movement not in anticipation of something. Then, do they do it by force of others? Of course, they do not.
The DPRK people take the road of patriotism for themselves as they came to know in the embrace of the Workers’ Party of Korea what the country is and what the genuine life is.
The patriotic movement now gives stimulus to the DPRK.
The 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed the need to actively organize and properly guide the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement which is the powerful driving force for prosperity and development of the state.
