There is a folk song “Ballad of Gold Mountains” in the DPRK.
It sings the pride of labour turning all mountains in the country into the useful ones capable of getting substantial benefits from them in the people’s livelihood, the joys of life enjoying the benefits of the “gold mountains”, “treasure mountains” and benevolence of President Kim Il Sung who provided such benefits.
It has become one of folk songs sung fondly by the people in the DPRK.
At an early stage, the Workers’ Party of Korea put forward the line on making best use of mountains in areas surrounded by mountains and has wisely led to create forests to enjoy substantial benefits from them.
In 2020, the people in the North Phyongan Province planted over six million and two hundred thousand of wild fruit trees with a clear-cut object true to the noble intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to turn all the mountains into “gold mountains”, into “treasure mountains”, although the conditions were unfavourable due to the natural disasters and the world health crisis.
And they harvested the wild fruits on a mass scale.
As a result, thousand tons of wild fruits such as pine nuts, wild grapes and fruits of Actinidia arguta were gathered in 2020 and thus raw materials were fully supplied to the local-industry factories and numbers of processed wild fruits were produced to make contribution to the improvement of the people’s livelihood.
Such fruition is inconceivable apart from the pains taken by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who devoted their all to turn all the mountains into the thickly forested and the ones which produce “gold” and “treasure”. It is also the product of the wise leadership of the WPK.
Thus, people sing fondly “Ballad of Gold Mountains” with pride in “gold mountains”, “treasure mountains” that make them wealthy.
