Fertile Soil and Warm Sunrays

A beautiful and fragrant flower in full bloom is unthinkable apart from the fertile soil and warm sunrays.
Today the women in the DPRK lead valuable and worthwhile life as the fragrant flowers of the country, society and family while enjoying love and respect.
The women in the DPRK have equal rights in the state and society with men thanks to the Socialist Constitution. They participate freely in the state and social activities. Many of them lead worthwhile life while working as the deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly, the provincial, city and county people’s assemblies, senior officials in different units, well-known scientists, artistes and sportspersons. All the women in the DPRK have the equal rights to work and rest and receive remuneration of the work done with men.
The women in the DPRK have maternity leave of 8 months and are provided with food and wages on a regular basis during their maternity leave. The working hours of a woman with three or more children are six hours and she is paid her wage equivalent to eight-hour working. The women with babies are allowed to have the feeding breaks during the working hours.
According to the state law stipulating that the state and social-cooperative organizations shall take the responsible care of the children’s nutrition, the stores for supplying nurseries and kindergartens are built in every city, county and district and the officials in charge of nursing and upbringing of the children and education of the students are appointed in the provincial, city and county people’s committees.
Students are supplied with school things and uniforms at low price and cultivate their talents to the full in schools, schoolchildren’s palaces and clubs.
The women are specially offered with safe, hygienic and light occupations. Shops, direct sales stores and welfare centers in residential districts and near the working places give a kind service to the women and climate of respecting and loving the women is created throughout the society.
The Workers’ Party of Korea and the state enacted and invariably enforce such laws as the Socialist Constitution, the Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children, the Public Health Law, the Socialist Education Law, the Law on Ensuring Women’s Rights and bestow favors on the women and thus they lead their worthwhile life as the flowers of the country, society and family.
The WPK and the state serve as the fertile soil and warm sunrays that take good care of the women to become fragrant and beautiful flowers in full bloom.
