In the report made at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed to further develop self-reliance during the new five-year plan period as required by the developing revolution and the socialist construction.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said.
“We should bring about a revolutionary upsurge on all fronts of socialist construction by regarding self-reliance as a treasured sword for prosperity, a spirit which has always been a banner of struggle and driving force for a leap forward in the whole course of the Korean revolution.”
Self-reliance means that one stands on one’s own strength. Today self-reliance serves as a powerful motive force that vigorously advances the Korean revolution.
From early period the WPK has regarded self-reliance as a powerful weapon for advance and development and dynamically made the revolution and construction. The WPK has put forward policies to further develop self-reliance on the occasion of important meetings in every stage of developing revolution and taken measures for their end.
During that period self-reliance which originated from the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle stroke its roots deep in the Korean people’s idea and life and was brilliantly embodied as the stand and principle to be maintained in the Korean revolution and socialist construction, thus fully displaying its might in every stage of the developing revolution.
After the Seventh Congress, in particular, the WPK advanced the strategy of self-reliance and developed it into an offensive strategy to turn the hostile forces’ mean sanctions into a golden chance of strengthening the self-development capability, the internal motive force and into a political line to be consistently adhered to in the socialist construction.
This was an important historic momentum in developing self-reliance into a national trait of Juche Korea and the one and only fighting spirit of the Korean revolution.
The report of the Eighth Congress of the WPK advanced the five-year plan for the national economic development as an important task for the future new progress and development and confirmed self-reliance again as the main seed and theme for its implementation.
The five-year plan for the national economic development demands to regard as a powerful motive force the self-reliance that the WPK considers as a noble idea and to develop and strengthen it.
When self-reliance is developed further, it is possible to put the DPRK’s economy on a normal track of running smoothly without being affected by any external influences and to enable the socialist construction to be a great revolutionary undertaking which will provide the people with substantial welfare.
The report stressed to develop self-reliance into nationwide, planned and scientific one on the basis of firm conviction that self-reliance is a fundamental guarantee for the DPRK to live and advance.
Thanks to the WPK who put forward the line of developing self-reliance into nationwide, planned and scientific self-reliance by regarding it as the main seed and theme in implementing the new five-year plan, the DPRK can have a powerful weapon to promote actively the future development of the Korean revolution and the building of a powerful socialist country.
