The immortal revolutionary hymn “Song of General Kim Il Sung” was fraught with anti-Japanese war heroine
Kim Jong Suk’s ardent and pure mind to add luster to the august name of President Kim Il Sung.
After liberation when the Korean people enjoyed new happy life every day, they sent letters ardently asking to create a song dedicated to President Kim Il Sung.
One day Kim Jong Suk said to an anti-Japanese fig
She told to write a song immediately since it is the people’s wish that brooks no further delay.
The fig
He had told the people’s wish to the President, but the President said that, if the people’s wish was so strong, a song could be written for the people.
Listening to him, Kim Jong Suk said that it is natural for the President to do it, but a song of the President should be written.
She said that the new song must be written well to praise the President’s exploits as the eternal song to be sung by the Korean people through generations.
Kim Jong Suk paid deep attention to composing the “Song of General Kim Il Sung”.
One day when she learned about the situation, Kim Jong Suk sent a pocket book she had always carried with her during the anti-Japanese war period, saying that it would be difficult for a poet to write “Song of General Kim Il Sung” because he had not experienced the anti-Japanese war.
The pocket book had over 100 revolutionary songs including those which the President had personally written.
Reading the pocket book the poet pictured the President who led the anti-Japanese war with the red banner of the revolution.
When the poet finished draft of the song, he said that he should receive teachings of Kim Jong Suk to complete the song.
Kim Jong Suk carefully read the song several times and said that the song was good.
She said the song made her recollect the arduous road of revolution covered by the President.
Kim Jong Suk said that there is no place which has no hallowed traces of the President, who devoted his all to the country’s independence and the people’s happiness, and these traces are found on the crags of Mt.
Paektu and in the streams of the rivers Amnok and Tuman as well as in the happy life of the people who greeted the liberation.
She continued that the members of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army made their ways through the razing blizzards in the wild Manchurian plains and stayed up all night near the campfire, but they firmly believed that the day, when they would retell the immortal feats performed for the country and people by the President, the hero for all ages and peerless patriot, and his great love for them, would surely come.
Listening to her, the poet shouted for joy.
Her saying was the idea and stanza of the revolutionary song which he wanted to find.
The poet reflected the idea and feelings he received from Kim Jong Suk in writing a song.
“Song of General Kim Il Sung” was completed.
Good words produce a famous song.
Music of the song was wonderfully done by youth composer Kim Won Gun.
As a result, the immortal revolutionary song “Song of General Kim Il Sung” was popularized quickly among the people.
The song was sung everywhere in the country which was seething with creation of new life.
Listening to the song Kim Jong Suk’s comrades-in-arms were deeply moved by the unassuming efforts of Kim Jong Suk who worked heart and soul for the immortal revolutionary song with moral obligation of a soldier.
Whenever the poet and the composer met the people, they used to tell them that “Song of General Kim Il Sung” was entirely thanks to anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk.
