Kim Jong Il Scholarship is a form of premium granted to the DPRK students studying abroad thanks to the great love and benevolence of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Kim Jong Il Scholarship was instituted in October 1990 and was enforced since 1991.
The Scholarship is granted to the students who are sound politically and ideologically, excellent at study and exemplary in organizational and ideological life among the DPRK students studying abroad.
Such students are selected every year and the Scholarship is granted to them on the occasion of the significant Day of the Shining Star.
Kim Jong Il Scholarship is of big significance in encouraging all students, who are studying abroad, to possess of infinite loyalty to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to carry forward and consummate to the end the revolutionary cause of Juche started and developed by the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and in training them into genuine revolutionary talents for the building of a powerful socialist country.
