One February day in 1985 the DPRK people, out of their wish for Chairman Kim Jong Il’s good health, presented wild honey to him who worked day and night for the sake of prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.

Being told the fact, the Chairman told the officials to send the wild honey to Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.

The officials were at a loss. The Chairman explained them that, when they were leading a miserable life under the imperialist colonial rule, the Korean women could not take such rare medicines as wild honey after their childbirth and poor families of workers and farmers were unable to take honey even though they knew it was good for recovery of health after childbirth.

Noting that the Party saw that modern maternity hospital was built for women and they will be very pleased to take wild honey after their childbirth in the hospital, the Chairman urged them to send all the wild honey to the maternity hospital. He continued that children are future of the country and they can be in good health only when their mothers are in good health, and future of the country is prosperous only when the children are in good health.

Hence the wild honey was sent to Pyongyang Maternity Hospital called as their “parents’ home” by the DPRK women and all the women in childbed could take it.
