On February 6, 1963, President Kim Il Sung visited a post at Mt Taedok on the front in spite of the biting cold.
Kim Il Sung said that, from olden times a man who distinguished himself in battle has been called a “match for a hundred”, which means that one man can beat a hundred foes. He continued that the only correct policy of the People’s Army was to further consolidate the position with existing military personnel, conduct military training better and arm the entire servicemen firmly with the revolutionary spirit, thus making each of them match a hundred, emphasizing that a-match-for-a-hundred is the KPA’s slogan.
