One March day in 1995 Chairman Kim Jong Il told officials that the DPRK women were taking active part in socialist construction to make their country more prosperous under the Party’s leadership, giving full play to their strength and wisdom.

The Chairman said that the DPRK with the splendid history of women’s movement should celebrate the International Women’s Day more significantly.
