On August 25, 1960 Chairman Kim Jong Il started his leadership over the revolutionary armed forces with the visit to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division.
That day Kim Jong Il told commanding officers of the division that it is the basic mission of the Korean People’s Army and the core of its glorious tradition to defend the Party and the leader at the cost of their lives.
His words have become an immortal guiding principle that enables the KPA to adhere firmly to its revolutionary character.
