The DPRK was only 2 years old, but it had to wage a war ignited by US imperialists for 3 years. An armistice agreement was concluded after 3 years of war against the US imperialists and their satellite countries. The US imperialists’ moves of aggression were frustrated.
The great significance of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War,Kim Jong Un explained, lies in that the DPRK safeguarded its dignity, honour and sovereignty, secured the environment for independent development of the country, made a great history in the Korean revolution and construction after the war, provided the tradition and wealth of eternal victory, smashed the US imperialists’ attempt of aggression upon Asia and strategy of world hegemony to protect the world peace and gave an impetus to the change of the world political structure and the tide towards independence and socialism.
The victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War which defended the sharpest outpost line of the anti-imperialist struggle in the eastern corner of the globe is, indeed, a victory of guardians over aggressors, a victory of justice and progress over injustice and reactionary and a victory of human history that proved the truth that no strong and superior aggressors can match the people who turn out as one in the decisive war of resistance against the aggressors.
