One autumn day President Kim Il Sung visited the (then) Sindae branch of Kwail County Fruit Combined Farm in South Hwanghae Province that had a rich harvest. The President suggested having a photo taken with labor innovators there who worked hard and approached the camera stand. The President wore a gloomy look and asked why there was only one woman on the camera stand.

An official answered that those who were there were almost work team leaders and cell secretaries. The President said that women were better than men at farming and it was necessary to keep balance between men and women in building the ranks of managing and junior officials. That day, the President felt it pity that he failed to have a photo taken with woman innovators as time pressed on him. He asked officials to comfort them. That night when he came back to Pyongyang, the President, listening to a song about women in deep recollection, said that it was important to boldly promote women to cadres and hold them in high esteem and that it was necessary not only to sing that they are flowers but to help them remain loyal to the revolution.

Under the warm care and benevolence of the President, the DPRK produced many heroines and women labor innovators who performed feats to be recorded forever in the history of the revolution.
