It was one day in mid-June 2002.

At dawn, Chairman Kim Jong Il, together with a few officials, traveled hundreds of kilometres to look round wheat and barley fields of a farm of a province. He gave tasks to increase grain production of the farm and turn mountains and fields of the country into socialist ones.

The officials told Kim Jong Il to take a rest even for a moment, but he gave field guidance to another unit of another province and continued his guidance to the newly-built Taedonggang Beer Factory when he arrived in Pyongyang.

Looking round its buildings and production lines, he said with pleasure that the factory could possibly supply more beer to the people all the year round and taught about its operation.

It was nearly 11 o’clock when he winded up his field guidance to the beer factory. Kim Jong Il visited the toothbrush shop of the Pyongyang Daily Goods Factory. Looking round its production lines in detail, he requested its officials to put production on a normal basis and produce toothbrush in various kinds to suit characteristics of the people’s gum.

When he came outside the factory, Kim Jong Il told the accompanied officials to return home for a rest and said goodbye to them, and then he continued his field guidance.
