Meeting a commanding officer of the People's Army on February 8, 1973, Chairman Kim Jong Il said that President Kim Il Sung made a significant speech about revolutionary comradeship at the banquet arranged on the occasion of the 25th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army.
Kim Jong Il said that the anti-Japanese guerrillas unhesitatingly dedicated their lives to the safety of the headquarters and supported the President with sincerity during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle not because they thought that the President would become the head of the state after liberation but because they were convinced of the truth that the Korean revolution could emerge victorious only when the revolutionary ranks were firmly united on the basis of one ideology centred on the leader.
Kim Jong Il continued that the anti-Japanese guerrillas displayed noble traits of revolutionary comradeship during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to overcome all difficulties and hardships and defeat the Japanese imperialists, thus achieving the historic cause of national liberation. He stressed that, as President Kim Il Sung instructed, unity based on revolutionary comradeship is a source of the invincible strength of the People’s Army and a guarantee for all victories.
