The Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm has more than 850 greenhouses including 1-hectare, 1 000㎡- and 500㎡-greenhouses on a wide area covering 280 hectares, and over 1 000 single-storied dwelling houses and low-rise apartment houses of 99 forms in 113 blocks.
These numbers prove how gigantic the project of building the
Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm was. They are associated with the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s special love for and deep trust in the workers and scientists in Hamhung City who hold a great share in developing the economy and science and technology of the country, and the people in South Hamgyong Province.
Kim Jong Un saw that greenhouse farm, the biggest and most modern in the DPRK was built for the people in South Hamgyong Province and broke ground first and pushed the blasting button to signal the start of the construction at the ground-breaking ceremony held in February 2022. The people in the province were moved by Kim Jong Un’s noble love for them.
Kim Jong Un clarified in detail the tasks and ways related to the construction of greenhouse farm including the issue of organizing the construction headquarter and sector panels to accelerate the construction dynamically, the issue of perfecting design on the highest level, the issue of giving precedence to the supply of building materials and the manufacture of greenhouse facilities and the issue of intensifying the construction guidance and supervision.
