    The factories, enterprises and service units which he visited number several hundred.

    The field guidance of high-intensity forced march given by leader Kim Jong Il who regarded his painstaking as pleasure for the sake of the people’s happiness was the great devotion unprecedented in human history.

    His devotion for the improvement of the people’s standard of living was the sacred one dedicated to bringing up many officials and the working people to be fighters and heroes of loving their country and people.

    While continuing field guidance tour, he met lots of officials and working people and led them step by step to become victors of honor in the great upsurge advance. As an intimate teacher he broadened the sight of the officials and working people and gave them the way for innovation and as a benevolent father he showed them affection and trust, courage and grit.

    Thanks to leader Kim Jong Il who encourage tens of millions of people with his warm love, they have become doctors, Labor Heroes and merited persons, and even ordinary workers have been brought up into the pioneers who push back the frontiers of science and technology and the fighters who love their country and people, thus being well known to the whole country.

    His great devotion for the people’s standard of living brought about the changes of multiple stages in the DPRK.

    Bearing in his mind the plan to enhance the national strength incredibly and improve the people’s standard of living by hastening the development of the ultra-modern science and technology, leader Kim Jong Il aroused the whole country to a drive to push back the frontiers of latest science and technology.

    Thanks to his meticulous leadership, miraculous success of breaking through the cutting-edge of CNC technology was made for the first time in machine-building industry, the king of industry. On its basis, changes are brought about successively in the general advance for the improvement of the people’s standard of living through the drive to break through the cutting-edge, being expanded extensively across the country.

    Large-size power stations have been put onto commission and proud successes achieved in producing Juche iron, Juche fertilizer and Juche vinalon by localizing the fuel and raw materials. Large-size fruit-farming, stockbreeding, poultry and foodstuff processing bases have been built on the ultra-modern bases and socialist fairylands were built in many parts of the country. Monumental edifices of the times including the Majon Hotel, the Hyangsan Hotel and the Mansudae Street and excellent parks and the recreation grounds including the Kaeson Youth Park have been built across the country.

    Fresh development has been made in the fields of musical and theatrical arts.

    Great changes made in all sectors of building a powerful country are the precious fruition of labours and devotion of leader Kim Jong Il who possessed noble view on people regarding the people as Heaven and devoted his one and all for the sake of the people.
