Leader Kim Jong Il regarded it as his unshakable creed to solve theoretical and practical problems in the revolution and construction in one’s own way with the creative attitude toward the established theories and ideas and experiences of other countries.
It was when leader Kim Jong Il was looking around construction site of a building to be completed as a monumental edifice.
Looking at the interior of the building the leader immediately found out the shortcomings of the building’s architectural design saying that windows are small and their styles are simple comparing that the building is grand and its rooms are big.
At that time grand buildings used to have windows of same size with same intervals and this was considered to be a rule as well as an architectural beauty.
Looking at the officials who were enmeshed in established theories and ideas, the leader said that the times change and science develops, which means we can not mechanically apply the theories established 100 or 500 years ago and the theory of architecture must be also changed as required by the modern times and aesthetic tastes of the people in our era. The leader continued that change must be made in the architectural design as technique is important in building monumental edifices.
Later the officials and architects completed the design in accordance with the requirements of the Juche era and aesthetic tastes of the Korean people.
New technique in the architectural design--this was the new discovery made thanks to the extraordinary intelligence of leader Kim Jong Il, the genius of architecture.
