One day in August 1984 President Kim Il Sung received a new suit officials made with quality cloth.
When he asked the officials why such a new suit was made, one of them told the President that previous ones were so faded that he couldn’t put them on.
The President looked at the suit without any word for a while and said that he hadn’t thought of any pleasure and happiness without the people. Saying that he will have it when all people wear such new suits, he told the official to turn his faded suit inside out.
The official did so as told by the President.
He was very satisfied with the remade suit. He said that the old suit became a new one by having it turned inside out. He said that it was necessary for officials to change clothes several times with new ones according to time and place, but he couldn’t do so. He said with affection that he wanted nothing else if the people led a happy life in good clothes.
A few days later he put on the “new suit” and left for a field guidance.
